What is an IMO?
An IMO (Independent Marketing Organization) partners with multiple top-rated insurance carriers and provides agents with access to products, training, systems, and support — without limiting them to a single company. This allows agents to shop the market, customize solutions for clients, and build their own business with flexibility and ownership.
Is Odyssey Financial Group a captive agency?
No. Odyssey Financial Group is a brokerage, not a captive agency. Captive agencies limit agents to selling one carrier's products. Brokerages, like ours, allow agents to work with multiple carriers, giving clients better options and agents more control, flexibility, and earning potential.
Are there any startup fees?
No. Odyssey Financial Group does not charge agents any initiation fees, CRM fees, monthly membership fees, training fees, or hidden costs. If you do not yet have a life insurance license, you will need to pay your state exam and licensing fee through NIPR, which varies by state. These costs are set by the state — not by us.
Do agents get a W2?
No. Agents working with Odyssey Financial Group operate as 1099 independent contractors, not W-2 employees. This structure allows agents greater flexibility, ownership, and tax advantages.
Is this an MLM?
Nope. Odyssey Financial Group is not an MLM. MLMs are recruiting-driven, where income depends primarily on how many people you bring in. Our business is sales-driven and production-based. You do not need to recruit to make money here. Recruiting is optional — not required.
Do you need any experience and/or qualifications to get started?
No prior experience is required. We provide extensive, free training to all new agents. You do need a life insurance license to sell insurance, but you can join without one. We guide you through the licensing process and cover the cost of the required online pre-licensing course.
Do you have to cold call?
No. We do not require cold calling. Our leads go through an intensive vetting process before reaching our agents, allowing you to focus on conversations with individuals who have already expressed interest.
What products do you offer?
We offer a full range of insurance and financial solutions, including:
